The detection and reduction of procurement fraud requires an understanding of what procurement is, what constitutes fraudulent behaviour, and where fraudulent activities can be located. We can then look at reduction methodologies and detection tools and techniques.

Procurement systems are susceptible to bribery and corruption. Fraud within the procurement life cycle is high risk and often becomes embedded within the organisation and can result in recurring losses.
